• Sagesport on Rockford Street was the scene of a theft Tuesday, according to Mount Airy Police Department reports. An unknown suspect took six Affliction T-shirts, valued at $288, and left the store without paying.
• Also Tuesday, police were told that the license plate, number CLP4043, had been stolen from a 2000 Ford Contour owned by Betty Jean Poole of Broad Street while the vehicle was at 89 Amoco on West Pine Street.
• A crime involving a $690 theft of tools and the license plate from a 2004 Hyundai Sonata owned by Joshua Jack Atkins of Airview Drive, along with damage to the car, was discovered Saturday. The incident occurred on Lovill Street, where the vehicle had been parked unsecured, with assorted hand tools and a combo tool kit including a Porter electric saw and Lithium finisher stolen along with the license plate, number EDV5021. The vehicle also was keyed on the exterior and interior, with the damage put at $200.
• A Stedman guitar valued at $125 was stolen Friday from Mullins Pawn Shop on Caudle Drive by an unknown suspect.
• Police were told Friday that counterfeit currency had been passed by an unknown person at Arby’s on Rockford Street. The sum involved was not given, with Barbara Ann Wight of McBride Road listed as the victim of the crime.
• Violations of second-degree trespassing and communicating threats were issued Friday against Michael Philip Greene, 23, and Kaitlyn Nicole Hiatt, 18, both of 330 Woodruff St., with Lonnie Midkiff, who lives at another residence on Woodruff Street, as the complainant. Greene and Hiatt are scheduled to appear in Surry District Court on Sept. 23.
• A temporary license plate, number 22322061, was stolen Friday from a 2003 Ford Escape owned by Kelsey Holt Whitt of Kermit Lewis Road in Pilot Mountain. The theft occurred while the vehicle was at Lone Star Steakhouse on Woodland Drive, where Whitt is employed.
• A second-degree trespassing offense was issued Friday against Michael Allen Griffith, 33, of 207 E. Lebanon St., during a disturbance call at the Super C convenience store on East Pine Street, from which Griffith had been banned by a city officer in March. He is free on a $2,500 unsecured bond to appear in District Court on Sept. 21.
• Three damage to property incidents involving spray painting were discovered last Thursday, including a hair salon on Franklin Street where graffiti was painted on the side and rear of the business, with Frances Collins and Susan Patterson listed as victims of the crime that caused $200 in damage; a state highway sign on U.S. 52 at the N.C. 89 exit ramp, where damage put at $200 occurred; and two Harrell Oil Co. tanks on Forrest Drive, where $500 in damages resulted.
• Golf equipment valued at $1,060, owned by John Paul Caudill of Roaring River, was discovered stolen on Aug. 17 from the bed of Caudill’s 2007 Ford F-150 pickup while it was parked at McDonald’s on Rockford Street. Among the items taken were clubs — Ping irons; a Taylor driver, an Adams driver, a Nike driver and an Odyssey putter — a black and blue Ping golf bag and Carolina Panthers club covers.
