White Plains Elementary School recently held student elections, choosing Student Council leadership positions of president, vice president, secretary and treasurer.

On Sept. 20, sixteen students in fifth grade at the school gave speeches in front of an audience of faculty, third-through fifth-grad students and family members. Prior to this day, these students made posters and hung them in the halls to campaign for their respective offices, with four students running for each office.

The winning students were, Jake Simmons for the office of president; Abram Gammons, vice president; Corbin Dollyhigh, secretary; and Sadie Badgett, treasurer.
