Copeland Elementary School recently spent time studying about electricity, including meeting with an official from Surry Yadkin Electric Membership Cooperative.
Randy White, safety coordinator for the cooperative, shared his expertise about electricity with fourth grade students, who have been studying electrical circuits.
He shared with the students about kinds of electricity, how electricity is made and the path of electricity to the customers.
“Mr. White also demonstrated how linemen and women stay safe in their dangerous work and how we can stay safe around electrical wires,” the school said.
Students discussed ways they can conserve energy in their homes and school as well.
