Mountain View ‘Plants It Pink’

The Mountain View Gardeners Garden Club won first place for the “Plant It Pink” Award. This award is presented to the garden club in North Carolina that plants a pink garden in any public place that best promotes awareness of the fight against breast cancer.

By planting seasonal pink flowers in the brick planter between the U.S. Post Office building and adjacent parking lot that is highly visible to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic, it raises awareness of breast cancer all year.

Th is spring Tamra Thomas, president of Mountain View Gardeners Garden Club, was presented the award at the Garden Club of North Carolina annual meeting in Greensboro by Gail Hill, GCNC President and Sandra Robinson, National President.
