Surry County Sheriff Reports

DOBSON — The Surry County Sheriff’s Office has released the following incident reports:

• Richardson Brothers Logging, of Lowgap, reported larceny and vandalism at a location in Dobson. Reported stolen were three linchpins (valued at $10), and a category one pin ($15). Reported damaged were two hazard lights ($60) and a battery cable ($20).

• Toby Andrew Hudson Jr., of State Road, reported larceny on July 20 at a storage facility in State Road. Reported stolen was a 1994 Harley-Davidson Softail motorcycle, valued at $13,000. One suspect was listed as a 47-year-old white male.

• Kristin Kollette Secrest, of River End Lane, Dobson, reported a car stolen on July 21. She said a 2016 Toyota Camry was taken “with the intent to deprive,” according to the incident report. The car was valued at $20,000.

• Stanley Maxine Dockery, of U.S. 601, Dobson, reported damage to a minivan on July 21. Dockery said the vehicle ignition was damaged in an attempt to steal the 2001 Ford Windstar. The damage was valued at $1,000.

• Brenda Faye Worrell King, 71, of Newrell Johnson Lane, Mount Airy, reported a larceny at her home on July 21. She said sometime in the prior week someone had entered the house and taken several things. Listed as missing were a $300 combination safe, an extensive coin collection valued at $10,000, and $500 in old currency, as well as papers in the safe such as a will, life insurance policy and silver certificates. A possible suspect is listed as a 28-year-old white female.

• Terry Chantler Mitchell, of Walker Road, Elkin, reported a break-in at his residence July 21. Reported stolen were a Golds Gym weight bench ($150 value), free weights ($230), dumbbells ($120) and a straight bar ($58).

• Three people reported a mugging at gunpoint on West Pine Street July 22. Ryan Cole Badgett, Nicholas Clayton Blair Toney and Brooke Adoragail Hawks reported that an 18-year-old white male held a gun on them to steal an undisclosed amount of money.

• Subway on West Pine Street, reported a theft by an employee July 22. The business reported that an employee removed a change box without permission. Taken were the cash box ($20) and an estimated $76 in cash. The suspect was identified as a 44-year-old white male.

• Reynolds Ronnie Dalton, of Charlie Norman Road, reported a larceny at the home July 23. Reported stolen was a 25-horsepower Troy-Bilt mower, valued at $3,000. A possible suspect was listed as a 28-year-old white female.

• Larry Gay Joyce, of Summit Drive, Mount Airy, reported damage to his 2016 TaoTao Blizzard scooter on July 23. The vehicle was valued at $2,000.

• Steven Arrants Randolph, of W.R. Gillespie Road, Dobson, reported a larceny and vandalism at his property on July 23. A metal door and frame were reported damaged ($100); reported stolen were a Whirlpool driver ($400), Amana washer ($400), Masonic belt buckle ($30) and a Marines keychain ($20).
