• Two unknown suspects stole an unattended purse last Wednesday night at Walmart which contained an undisclosed sum of money and a BB&T Visa debit card, according to Mount Airy Police Department reports. The victim of the crime is Tia Shianne Cecil, a resident of Sable Avenue.

• Raleigh Joseph McMillian, 39, of 214 Apple Drive, No. 13, was arrested Thursday on a U.S. marshal warrant. McMillian was encountered by police during a suspicious-person investigation at the Speedway convenience store on Rockford Street and found to be wanted by federal authorities on a no-bond warrant for an unspecified matter. He was held accordingly in the Surry County Jail, with no court date readily scheduled.

• Meredith Claire Wilhoit, 26, of 420 E. Main St., Pilot Mountain, was cited on a charge of larceny Thursday at Walmart, where she allegedly took unspecified items with a total value of $155, which police records indicate were recovered intact. Wilhoit is to appear in Surry District Court on Oct. 4.

• An Ingersoll Rand 80-gallon air compressor valued at $1,010 was discovered stolen Wednesday from an unidentified business located at 126 Starlite Road. The owner of the compressor, which was taken from the rear of the building, was identified as Janet Stevens Hauser of Wandering Walk Road in Lowgap.

• Police were told on Wednesday that a black Estes steel trailer valued at $1,000 had been stolen earlier in the month from a parking lot at the Barber Street Investments business on South Main Street. The owner of the trailer was listed as Mary Muller Boone of Blacksburg, Virginia.

• Rodney Tyrone Travis, 38, listed as homeless, was arrested last Tuesday on warrants for offenses of larceny, communicating threats and assault on a female, which had been issued in the city the day before with Kimberlee Duncan of Ricky Lane as a complainant. Tyrone was jailed, with no bond figure listed, and slated for a District Court appearance this Wednesday.

• Charges of driving while impaired and driving while license revoked were issued last Tuesday against Christine Marie Hash, 33, of 812 Spring St., after a traffic accident on South Street near West Lebanon Street. Hash is scheduled to be in court on Oct. 31.

• Jason Robert Neel, 38, of 147 W. Lebanon St., was charged with injury to personal property on Aug. 27, stemming from an Aug. 11 incident at the Speedway convenience store on West Pine Street, where he allegedly pushed open a door in a manner that caused it to break. This resulted in damage put at $300. Neel’s court date is Oct. 16.

• Property with a total value of $935 — plus a State Employees Credit Union bank/ATM card and a driver’s license — was stolen from an unsecured 2007 Nissan Sentra on Aug. 26 at the 13 Bones restaurant on South Andy Griffith Parkway, where crime victim Christian Logan Vernon, a resident of Great Southern Trail, is employed.

In addition to the bank card and driver’s license, a Nikon D3400 camera was taken along with two Nikon camera lenses, a gray Nikon storage bag, an Adidas duffel bag (navy blue in color) and a brown tri-fold wallet.
